After graduating from University with a Business and Finance degree, I began working as an Accounts Assistant for a marketing firm based in London. Whilst I enjoyed my time in accounting, I found my role became repetitive and lacked the intellectual challenges I craved for. This prompted me to look at what I enjoyed doing most.
Growing up as a child, my passions were heavily influenced by my family’s property development business. I loved accompanying my father to the building sites, helmet on head and gloves on hand, to watch an unflattering pile of dirt transform into a beautiful, well designed home. My fascination for beautifully well built homes, as well as meticulous design has always had my full admiration. I have also had a huge interest with gadgets and tech. From building an electrically operated rollercoaster when i was a child, to drone flying; anything tech related, I need to get my hands on. Coupling these interests, it had long been a dream to design an app to help improve the efficiency of the family business. This prompted me to learn the basics of HTML and CSS using online material, however, I never had the opportunity to give it my full attention. After some research, I found the Web Development Course being offered at General Assembly and haven’t looked back since
In just 3 months, I have learnt a huge amount. From having a very limited understanding of web development to building full stack applications, this has been a great adventure. The skills I have acquired have given me great shot in realising my goal of becoming an accomplished web developer. The course has also inspired me to continue learning and developing these skills.
For my first project, I created a game that was designed to help track how many words a user can type a minute. The user will also be notified with the number of errors they have typed
My second project is a full-stack web application that re creates instagram. Users can add, edit and delete their own pictures in addtiont to seeing other users pictures
A group project that enables users to connect with other local users to request help completing chores they are otherwise struggling to complete. Users can create jobs that they need help with, look at messages from prospective helpers, choose a helper, and rate that helper.
PropManage is a property management app that allows landlords to communicate with their tenants and vice versa. Landlords can view tenants currently living in their properties. In addition to showing the profiles of each tenant, PropManage allows landlords to view any late payments on rent and any other ad hoc bills.
